(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – The Wilson women's volleyball team fell to Mount Aloysius in straight sets in non-conference action on Tuesday evening. The Phoenix gave the Mounties a battle and forced the visitors to need extra points in the opening set, but Mount Aloysius was able to avoid the upset and went on to take the second and third.

How It Happened
- Wilson jumped out to an early lead and fed off the momentum to keep the Mounties at bay for most of the set. Alexis Landis (So., Nottingham, Pa. / Octorara) broke a 17-all tie with a kill that was followed by a Michaela Windisch (Sr., Westminster, Md. / Catoctin) ace and an Abby Moreland (Sr., Sabillasville,Md. / Catoctin) block to put the Phoenix up by three. A Moreland kill and an Addie Hebert (Sr., Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) ace then helped Wilson take a 23-20 lead. However, Mount Aloysius was able to stay alive and came back to take the first by scoring six of the next seven.
- The Mounties rode the momentum wave to jump out to an early lead in the second. The Phoenix struggled to get the offense going as the visitors easily took the 2-0 lead. Mount Aloysius remained strong to take the third.
Inside The Numbers
- Jayda Lichty (FY, Hanover, Pa. / Southwestern) had a solid evening with seven kills while hitting in the positives. Defensively she was strong as well by picking up 10 digs.
- Hebert led the team with 11 digs.
- Hannah Pollard (FY, Wilmington, N.C. / Wilmington Christian) added two solo blocks up front.
