(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – Wilson College held its athletic awards ceremony with plenty of reasons to celebrate the Phoenix student-athletes' successes both in the classroom and on the field of competition. Highlighting the evening were the induction of 40 new members into Chi Alpha Sigma and the addition of four student-athletes into the Gwendolyn Jensen Athletics Hall of Fame.
To be eligible for Chi Alpha Sigma, students must have a junior or senior status after their fourth full-time semester and completed one year in residence if a transfer student, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, receive endorsement from their head coach, be recommended by the college, and be of good moral character. The 40 new members is the largest class Wilson has had in the five years since starting its Chi Alpha Sigma chapter and brings the total to 141 members during that time.
The new members of the Gwendolyn Jensen Hall of Fame are
Halley Shaffer of women's soccer,
Julie Warnick of Equestrian Western,
Jewels Torres of women's basketball, and
Jacob McCoy of men's volleyball.

Shaffer and Warnick were co-Senior Female Athletes of the Year while McCoy took the Male Senior Athlete of the Year award.
The Lori Frey Award, given to the student-athletes whose extraordinary commitment and dedication which serves as an inspiration to teammates, coaches, and fellow student-athletes across campus were given to
Annie Smith of women's soccer and
Jalen Pierce of men's basketball.

The Phoenix Award was given to
Sadie Fike of women's lacrosse and
Jace Williams of men's soccer. This award recognizes the athlete that has ignited the fire for their team.
First year student-athletes had another record-breaking year and saw
Ella Schmoyer of the women's soccer team receive the Female Rookie of the Year award. On the men's side,
Cole Cooper received the male award for his dominance on the golf course.

Academic awards were also received.
Riley Lemay of women's lacrosse won the Chuck Naso Award for the female student-athlete with the highest overall GPA.
Eric Arbogast of men's soccer won the Student-Athlete Award for Academic Excellence for the male student-athlete with the highest GPA.
Jalen Pierce won the Bill Kalbaugh Award for Academic Excellence given to the men's basketball player with the highest GPA.
