Hood Too Much For Phoenix

(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – A strong third inning by Hood doomed Wilson as it fell in non-conference action to their neighbors from the South on Wednesday afternoon. The Phoenix and Blazers were square at one after the second inning before the visitors posted nine in the third to take control of the game.

The Basics

Score: Wilson 1, Hood 14 (7 innings)

Venue: Henninger Field

Records: Wilson 4-17-1, Hood 13-15

How It Happened
  • The Blazers struck first as an error allowed the first run to score in the top of the second. Wilson was able to answer as Jermane Miller (Jr., Wilmington, Del. / Alexis I. DuPont / Albright) singled in Charles Musser (Jr., Thurmont, Md. / Linganore) to pull even in the bottom of the frame.
  • It wasn't long until Hood was back on top as Harrison Ludington hit a two run homer to left in the third. The Blazers added a two-RBI triple and a three-run home run to continue their extra base hit trend in the process of scoring nine runs on seven hits.
  • It was tough for the Phoenix to generate any chances the rest of the way as they were limited to four hits in the game. Hood solidified the win by scoring in five of the seven innings played.
