How It Happened (Game 1)

Addison Woods (FY, North East, Md. / Tome) drew a bases loaded walk to score Kiera O'Brine (Jr., Dillsburg, Pa. / Northern) to open the scoring in the first. One inning later, Emily Randalls (So., Dillsburg, Pa. / Northern York) hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Jenna Weaver (So., Camp Hill, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) and Katelyn Keller (So., Orrtanna, Pa. / Gettysburg) drove in Caitlin Oliviero (Jr., Wernersville, Pa. / Conrad Weiser) on a base hit to make it 3-0. In the third, Madison Briggs (Sr., Lock Haven, Pa. / Central Mountain) drove in Woods and later scored on a sacrifice by Oliviero to make it 5-0.
- Scoring resumed in the fifth when Weaver knocked in Woods and Briggs stole home during a double steal attempt. Sydney Hartle (So., Keedysville, Md. / Boonsboro) capped the scoring when she tripled to bring in Keller and Randalls for a 9-0 lead. Valley Forge scored its lone run in the bottom of the sixth, but could not get any more to keep the game going.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- Wilson wasted little time getting on the board once again with three runs in the top of the first. Keller started the rally with a sac fly to bring in Weaver. Hannah Berger (FY, Rome, Pa. / Northeast Bradford) tripled in Hartle and later scored on a double by Woods.
- Valley Forge got its lone run in the bottom of the second, but it wasn't long until the Phoenix responded. Woods scored again after an error in the outfield. Weaver walked with the bases full to score Samantha Rybacki (So., Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg) and later scored after an infield error.
- Three more runs followed in the fifth as Grace Purdum (FY, Annapolis, Md. / Broadneck) drove in Woods and Alyssa Kennard (FY, Camden, Del. / Caesar Rodney) and Aliyah Masser (FY, Greencastle, Pa. / Greencastle-Antrim) followed suit with a base hit to plate Taylor Espenshade (FY, Dillsburg, Pa. / Northern York).
Inside The Numbers
