How It Happened
- A 4-0 stretch midway through the first created the separation Wilson needed to take control of the match with Ryan Koontz (Jr., York Haven, Pa. / Red Land) paving the way with a pair of kills to help make it 14-9. Neumann stayed as close as three before a 5-0 run made it 24-16 with Jackson Wolfe (So., Abbottstown, Pa. / New Oxford) downing a pair of kills, Gaetano Davis (FY, York, Pa. / York Suburban) laying down an ace, and Demetrius Simmons (Sr., Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg) and Satvik Sharma (So., Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) pairing up for a block. After a pair of Knights points, Wes Reall Jr. (FY, Carlisle, Pa. / Big Spring) closed the frame with a kill.
- The Phoenix never trailed in the second and used an 8-0 run to dominate the set. Koontz sparked the rally with a kill and was followed by one from Simmons. Simmons and Wolfe paired up for another block before Wolfe and Koontz added kills. Koontz gave a solo rejection to a Neumann attack to cap the run and make it 17-7. Wilson didn't yield consecutive points the rest of the way.
- Wilson again had the jump on Neumann and went up 16-8 following stretch where the Blue and White scored six of eight with Wolfe garnering a pair of kills in addition to one from both Simmons and Koontz. Jacob McCoy (Sr., York, Pa. / Spring Grove) added three kills in a stretch of five points to help make it 24-14. The Knights remained stingy and scored the next six before Elijah Carter (FY, Glassboro, N.J. / Glassboro) finished off the day with a kill.
