(LATHAM, N.Y.) – The United East conference has announced its 2025-26 All-Conference teams for women's and men's basketball and Wilson College has five selections between the two sports.
Jalen Pierce (Sr., Richmond, Va. / Collegiate / Millersville) highlights the list as a first team selection.
Leah Laubach (So., Marietta, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic), Armani Jones (Sr., Chicago, Ill. / Christ The King / Bryant & Stratton), and
Jalen Bowie (Sr., Frederick, Md. / Frederick / Shippensburg) were second team selections.
Jewels Torres (Sr., York, Pa. / West York) caps her career with another third team honor.
Pierce was not only one of the best shooters in the conference, but nationally as well as his average of 57.4% was eighth in Division III among guards and 43rd regardless of position. His 16.2 points per game were tied with Jones for most on the team and sixth in the conference. Pierce was also one of the top free throw shooters nationally as he led the conference with an 85.3% success rate at the line. His 3.42 assist to turnover ratio was second in the United East as well.
Laubach was a pivotal part of the women's team's return to the quarterfinals. Her 14.3 points per game were 10th in the conference. She was seventh in the league with 125 free throw attempts and ninth with 78 makes. Along with Torres, she helped the women's team finish the season No. 1 in the nation in free throw attempts per game with 25.38. Laubach also cleaned up on the glass where in the top 10 in the league in offensive rebounds per game.
Jones became a two-time all-conference selection after improving upon his spot on the third team from a year ago. The four-time United East Player of the Week was once again the foundation at forward for the Phoenix while leading the team and finishing sixth in the conference with 16.2 points per game. He was third in the conference and ranked in the top 100 nationally with 211 total rebounds. Jones' skills on the glass helped him get six double-doubles on the season.
Bowie was also a figurehead on the glass and pulled in nine double-doubles on the season to lead the conference. He paced the team in rebounding with 212 caroms, second-most in the conference and a top 100 mark nationally. His quick hands also helped him defensively where he made 44 steals on the year, seventh in the conference. Bowie's defensive prowess helped him earn recognition as a four-time United East Player of the Week.
Torres becomes one of the most decorated players in women's program history with her third all-conference nod. Her 99 assists not only ranked fifth in the conference, but it also helped her break the program record for most in her career. She finished the year ninth in Division III and 35th regardless of division with 418 made free throws among active players in her career. She is 11th and 27th, respectively, with 575 free throw attempts. Torres also displayed excellent defensive skills with 2.54 swipes per game, sixth in the conference.
Voting was conducted by head coaches in the United East.
