(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – Wilson hosted Mary Baldwin for its last doubleheader before conference play starts up this weekend, and while the Phoenix didn't get the sweep, they didn't lose either. That's because the Phoenix gutted out an impressive win in the opener and came back from six runs down to tie in the nightcap before the game was called after six innings because of darkness.

Scores: Game 1 – Wilson 7, Mary Baldwin 3
Game 2 – Wilson 8, Mary Baldwin 8 (6 Innings – Darkness)

How It Happened (Game 1)
- Wilson opened up with a run in the bottom of the first as Emily Randalls (So., Dillsburg, Pa. / Northern York) scored on a ground out by Sydney Hartle (So., Keedysville, Md. / Boonsboro). After the Squirrels homered in the second to tie the game, the Phoenix answered with a two RBI base hit by Randalls and a bases loaded walk to Hartle to go up 4-1 in the bottom half.
- Scoring remained dormant until the sixth inning when the Squirrels got within one after Skylar Meriwether singled up the middle to bring in a run and Lizzy Laurelli drove in another on a fielder's choice. Thankfully Wilson was able to get them both back on a two-run home run by Katelyn Keller (So., Orrtanna, Pa. / Gettysburg). Kayla Talbert (Jr., Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown / Saint Peter's) added an insurance run that on a base hit to left center that brought in Julie Berger (FY, Baltimore, Md. / Dundalk) to set up the final score.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- Mary Baldwin had the hot start with a pair of runs in the first and followed up with four in the third for a 6-0 lead. Wilson rebounded in a big way as the Phoenix pounded out five hits and benefitted from an error to tie the game with Grace Purdum (FY, Annapolis, Md. / Broadneck), Caitlin Oliviero (Jr., Wernersville, Pa. / Conrad Weiser), Jenna Weaver (So., Camp Hill, Pa. / Cedar Cliff), Alaina Smith (FY, Bellefonte, Pa. / Bellefonte), Deanna Estes (So., West Grove, Pa. / Avon Grove), and Alexa Snyder (FY, Clear Spring, Md. / Clear Spring) all scoring runs.
- The Squirrels appeared to have the advantage in the fifth inning as they scored a pair of runs on three hits for an 8-6 lead. The Blue and White were able to answer as Oliviero drove in Taylor Espenshade (FY, Dillsburg, Pa. / Northern York) on a base hit. Snyder scored on the play after an errant throw by the right fielder to tie the game.
- From there both teams had opportunities, but neither could capitalize in the sixth. The Phoenix and Squirrels started a seventh inning, but it couldn't be completed and the final score reverted to what it was after the sixth.
