How It Happened

Consecutive kills from Wolfe and Scotty Zorn (FY, York, Pa. / Dallastown) sparked a 5-0 that also included aces from Wolfe and Peter Marston (FY, Grand Island, N.Y. / Grand Island) to help propel Wilson to the first set win.
- The momentum rolled over to the second frame where the Phoenix opened up a 6-0 start. Kills came from Marston and Max Bernier (FY, Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) and also had an ace from Wes Reall Jr. (FY, Carlisle, Pa. / Big Spring). St. E's cut the deficit within two before Wilson pulled away with a 4-0 run with a pair of Demetrius Simmons (Sr., Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg) kills for a 12-6 lead. Simmons added an ace in a 5-0 run to make it 17-8, and Wilson closed the game with a 6-0 run.
- The third set was even at the start, but Wilson started to pull away in the middle game with a 7-1 run. Simmons fueled the push with three kills during the stretch to help give the Phoenix a 16-11 lead. The Eagles didn't go away quietly and clawed back to tie the set at 17-all. Wilson fended off the comeback attempt and closed the match with a strong 5-0 run with three more kills from Simmons.
