(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – Chelcie Forrester (Sr., Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg / WVU Potomac State) and
Chloe Irving (So., Martinsburg, W.Va. / Martinsburg) both recorded double-doubles, but it wasn't enough as Wilson fell to Cedar Crest in its return to action after winter break. The Falcons got off to a fast start to take a large lead, and while the Phoenix were able climb back into contention by the end of the first, the visitors remained in front the rest of the way.
The Basics
Score: Wilson 63, Cedar Crest 87
Venue: Gannett Memorial Field House
Records: Wilson 7-6, 2-1 United East; Cedar Crest 8-6, 2-2 United East
How It Happened
- Cedar Crest couldn't have asked for a better start as Ella Bincarosky hit four 3-pointers in the opening three minutes to help give the visitors a 14-3 lead. Mackenzie Caldwell-Degnon (Jr., Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) sparked some momentum and hit a pair of treys herself to help get the Phoenix back in the game. The latter of the two made it 22-15 and Wilson was able to make it a two-possession game from there as a Leah Laubach (So., Marietta) steal led to a layup by Irving to make it a five-point game.
- Unfortunately, the Falcons didn't allow the Phoenix to get too close. Building on a free throw at the end of the first, they proceeded to go on a 10-0 run once the second quarter began. The Falcons continued to build upon their lead from there en route to the win.
