King's Too Much For Wilson

(WILKES-BARRE, Pa.) – The first meeting between Wilson and King's went the way of the Monarchs as they had an explosive offense that propelled them to the win on Saturday evening. The hosts scored twice in the first 12 minutes and added another midway through the first while limiting the Phoenix attack en route to the victory.

The Basics

Score: Wilson 0, King's 3

Venue: McCarthy Stadium

Records: Wilson 2-3-2, King's 2-5-1

How It Happened
  • King's struck first in the early moments as Isabella Pacia found the back of the net just 5:03 into the contest. Feeding off the momentum the Monarchs forced a pair of corner kicks shortly after. A couple of shots followed by the hosts, but both attempts were wide left. Wilson managed to counter as Halley Shaffer (Sr., Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) found herself with a look at the net and a shot that required a save.
  • Unfortunately, King's was able to counter Shaffer's attempt and it resulted in Maya Parker scoring a goal. Midway through the half the Monarch's received another corner kick and made it count as Madison Jellema scored.
  • In the second half, Wilson didn't allow the hosts to score, but King's controlled the pace of play once again and didn't allow to take a single attempt.
Inside The Numbers
  • Madison Ebersole (So., Big Pool, Md. / Clear Springs) and Bella Scarlato (FY, Severn, Md. / Glen Burnie) split time in the game. Ebersole provided four saves while Scarlato added three in the second half.
  • Shots favored King's by a 20-3 margin.
