Women's Lacrosse Downed By DeSales

(CENTER VALLEY, Pa.) – The Wilson women's lacrosse team had its second game of the season and for the second time it was against a high-quality opponent in DeSales. The Bulldogs' depth proved to be too much as they blanked the Phoenix.

How It Happened

• The hosts got off to a fast start with a 6-0 lead in the first eight minutes of action. Wilson eventually got its first strong offensive chances with four minutes left in the frame and allowed Alyvia Henneman (So., Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) to get off a shot which went wide right. The Bulldogs eventually regained possession and added two more before the end of the frame.
• Henneman was able to get two more shots off in the third quarter, both of which went wide. Sadie Fike (So., McClure, Pa. / Mifflin County) was also able to take an attempt, but it was saved by Bulldogs keeper Nicole Minelli. Ellisa Gamby-Mickey (So., Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg) added a shot on goal in the fourth with Minelli making the save once again.

Inside The Numbers

• Gamby-Mickey was strong off the draw as she picked up a game-high eight DC's on the day. She added a caused turnover as well.
• Henneman led the team with three shots.

Wilson will take on Lycoming in the home opener on Monday evening. The contest will be played at the Robb Sports Complex on the campus of Shippensburg University.
