Field Hockey Inundates Oberlin In Shutout

(RICHMOND, Ind.) – Kate Seymour (So., Churchton, Md. / Southern) and Paige Ney (Jr., Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) had strong offensive showings as they both netted two goals as Wilson dominated Oberlin in a decisive victory Saturday.

Venue: Darrell Beane Stadium in Richmond, Indiana

How It Happened
  • Wilson quickly established their dominance in the first quarter, with Seymour scoring the opening goal at the 12:55 mark, assisted by Lizzie Landon (XXX).
  • Seymour struck again late in the second quarter, extending Wilson's lead to 2-0 at the halftime break.
  • In the second half the Phoenix continued their relentless attack as Paige Ney (Jr., Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) added another goal midway through the third quarter. Later in the frame she added another with 1:21 left in the period which put the game out of Oberlin's reach.
  • Oberlin struggled to generate any significant offensive pressure thanks to a rugged defensive back line for the Blue and White. The Yeowomen managed only one shot in the entire contest which went wide in the final quarter.
