(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – In the final non-conference contests of the regular season, Wilson was upended in both games of a doubleheader against Mary Baldwin. The Fighting Squirrels used a big first inning to jump ahead in the opener and held on for the win. The Phoenix tried to return the favor with an early lead in Game 2, but the visitors took the lead late for the sweep.

How It Happened (Game 1)
- Mary Baldwin opened up the day by using its first three batters to load the bases. A walk brought in the first run while consecutive two-RBI base hits to left field made the score 5-0. Wilson was able to chip away with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning. Jack Pachella (So., Wayne, Pa. / Radnor) was able to get the Blue and White on the board with a double down the right field line to score Haden Hoff (Sr., Westminster, Md. / Wesminster). Harry Middlebrooks (FY, Bel Air, Md. / Archbishop Curley) made it 5-2 on a sacrifice fly to score Pachella two batters later.
- The Phoenix added another run in the bottom of the second. Three consecutive base hits scored the run with Peyton Taylor (Sr., Worton, Md. / Kent County) getting the RBI to score Tyler Smith (FY, Crofton, Md. / Arcbishop Spalding). Wilson threatened more, but a double play ended the at-bat before the Phoenix could cut the deficit further. The Fighting Squirrels went on the score runs in the third and fifth to set up the Game 1 final.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- This time it was the Phoenix who lit up the scoreboard first as they got the bats going with three hits in the first. Middlebrooks and Jordan Daphney (Jr., Countryside, Fla. / Countryside) provided two of them and both were rewarded as they scored on a single by Pachella to left center.
- Two more runs followed in the second. After a Smith single to left, Tyler Gibbons (FY, Forrest Hill, Md. / Calvert Hall) reached after an error on a sacrifice bunt as the throw went down the first base line. That allowed both runners to advance with Smith scoring and Gibbons getting to third base. Kade Linton (Sr., Dunedin, Fla. / Clearwater Central Catholic) added a sacrifice fly for a 4-0 lead.
- The Fighting Squirrels started their comeback and tied the game in the third. An error led to the first run while three hits eventually followed to tie the game. Another four hits and an error allowed MBU to take a 6-4 lead just two innings later. A sac fly in the sixth then gave them a 7-4 lead.
- Wilson had a chance to take the win in the bottom of the seventh. Taylor doubled down the left field line to score Middlebrooks, but the Phoenix couldn't get any closer as they left two runners stranded.
Inside The Numbers
- Deskins and Taylor both had three hits on the day with both having multiple hit games in the opener.
- Middlebrooks found himself on base a few times in Game 2 as he reached on a base hit and a pair of walks.He scored two runs in the nightcap.
- Hoff and Daphney both added stolen bases on the day. Hoff now has a baker's dozen on the year while Daphney has hit double-digits with 10.
