(BALTIMORE) – Jill Ahlgren (Sr., Mercersburg, Pa. / Mercersburg) and
Sage Lague (Jr., Fairplay, Md. / Goretti) each scored a proverbial touchdown as Wilson took care of Notre Dame in its United East opener on Saturday afternoon. The duo scored the first seven goals for the Phoenix as they continue they continue their best start to a season in program history.

How It Happened
- Defense controlled the start as neither team got off a shot for the first three minutes of the game, but the Phoenix attack started to warm up as Lague found the back of the net on the first attempt of the day with Ahlgren providing the assist. After Ellisa Gamby-Mickey (FY, Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg) won the ensuing draw control, Ahlgren scored on an assist from Anna Gibson (Sr., Cecil County, Md. / Perryville) just 44 seconds later.
- Scoring was dormant until the Gators scored their first with just under seven minutes to go in the first, put Wilson answered just over a minute later as Lague scored from the eight-meter position. She was just getting started as she added another goals 34 seconds later. Ahlgren followed with a free position goal, but the Gators responded with a goal 27 seconds after to put the score at 5-2 in favor of the Phoenix at the end of one.
- Dominance continued into the second quarter as Wilson outscored the Gators 5-0 for a 10-2 lead at the half. Ahlgren opened up with a draw control win before a give-and-go with Gibson made it 6-2. The duo scored a pair of goals each to give the Blue and White the aforementioned advantage at the break.
- A couple of Lague goals came in the third before the Gators got back on the board once again. Marissa Eisenhauer (Sr., Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) added a score to put Wilson back up by 10 before the hosts scored with 30 seconds left to make the score 13-4 headed to the fourth. A draw control win and goal further decreased Wilson's lead to eight, but Ahlgren and Lague scored 24 seconds apart to go back up by 10 with 11:25 to play. In addition to Ahlgren and Lague scoring their final goals of the game, Emily Young (Jr., Fairfax, Va. / Chantilly) and Paige Ney (So., Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) also found the back of the net to help set the final score.
Inside The Numbers
- Ahlgren had another full stat sheet as she finished with nine points on seven goals, a new season-high, and a pair of helpers on the offensive end. Defensively she picked up five ground balls, caused four turnovers, and won nine draw controls.
- Lague finished with seven goals as well. It's the fifth time this season she's scored five or more goals. She was quite effective on the free-position setup as she was a perfect 3-for-3 on her attempts from eight meters.
- Young had a busy day as well setting up the offensive barrage with four assists to lead all players on the day. She added a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls as well.
- Gibson was effective all over the field as she totaled two goals and two assists offensively. Defensively she added two caused turnovers and three ground balls.
- Alaina Marek (FY, Bealeton, Va. / Liberty) added her name to the scoring column with a pair of assists.
- Defensively Krystal Kienast (Sr., Purcellville, Va. / Loudon Valley) went the distance and made eight saves on 17 shots faced.
