(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – Wilson hosted Mount Aloysius for its home opener on Wednesday evening, and although four Phoenix were in double-figures, the Mounties' high-octane offense proved too tough to stop.
Adrianna Stricek (Jr., Harrisburg, Pa. / Trinity) kept her double-double streak intact, but MAC countered with Molly Kosmack who had one herself to pace the visitors.
The Basics
Score: Wilson 72, Mount Aloysius 92
Venue: Gannett Field House
Records: Wilson 1-1, 0-0 UE; Shenandoah 1-0, 0-0 AMCC
How It Happened
- A layup by Chelcie Forrester (Jr., Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg / WVU Potomac State) and a 3-pointer by Jewels Torres (Jr., York, Pa. / West York) put Wilson off to a hot start and a 5-1 lead, but a 13-2 run by the Mounties put the visitors in front. An old-fashioned 3-point play was converted by Leah Laubach (FY, Marietta, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic) to keep the Phoenix within a possession at 18-15 with 2:09 to go in the first, but the Mounties answered with the next seven points to close the first up double-digits.
- Mount Aloysius built the lead up to 15 before Wilson went on a 10-2 run. Another 3-point play, this time by Lae Black (Jr., Laurel, Md. / Meade), highlighted the push after she converted the and-one to make the score 32-24. Laubach capped it with a free throw, but the Mounties answered with a 7-0 run to regain momentum and went into halftime up 15.
- Allie Cullison (Sr., Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill / Kean) led off the second half with a layup to make the score 47-34, but the was the closest the Phoenix would get the rest of the way as MAC made 50% of its attempts in the third quarter and 46.67% in the fourth while increasing its lead.
Inside The Numbers
- Stricek finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. It's her second double-double in as many games and is the fifth-straight double-double since last season.

- Torres hit double figures with 10 points and two 3-pointers. She dished out assists on three assists as well.
- While the inside game tends to fair well for the Phoenix, Wednesday night it benefitted the Mounties who outscored Wilson 46-32 inside.
- Despite that, Wilson still outrebounded Mount Aloysius 49-42.
