(WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.) – Wilson narrowly missed out on getting a result against one of the top teams in the conference in a clash with Penn on Wednesday night. The Phoenix went toe-to-toe with the Wildcats, but a first half goal held up as the hosts recorded a clean sheet.

Score: Wilson 0, Penn 1
Venue: UPMC Field
Records: Wilson 5-10-0, 1-5-0 UE; Penn 9-4-1, 4-1-0 UE
How It Happened
- Defenses were strong on both ends with each side garnering just one shot in the opening 30. A foul just outside the box presented Penn with another opportunity, and a free kick by Jack Lenosky curved inside the left post for a Wildcats goal in the 32nd minute.
- The score remained there through the halftime break. Penn opened up the second half with three shots in the first 12 minutes with Logan Neves (So., Fredericksburg, Va. / Colonial Forge) providing saves on a couple of them.
- While the Phoenix limited Penn's opportunities, their own chances were also few. Liam Yeatman (Jr., Roseland, Va. / Phoenixville) had the best chance to equalize, but his shot in the 84th minute was saved to preserve the win for the Wildcats.
Inside The Numbers
- The teams combined for just 14 shots with Penn leading the shot chart 10-4. Half of the Wildcats' takes were on goal.
