Women's Soccer Falls to Pitt-Greensburg

(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) - The Wilson women's soccer team competed against the Pitt- Greensburg Bobcats on a warm Sunday afternoon. The hosts ended up taking the contest from the Phoenix with a final score of 2-0.

How It Happened
  • Junior Jade Wolfe (Mercersburg, Pa. / James Buchanan) and sophomore Halley Shaffer (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) had the first two shots of the game, but with a save from the Bobcat's keeper, the game remained scoreless. Kylie Smith scored for the Bobcats in the 39th minute to push the score to 1-0 going into the second half.
  • The Bobcats were quick to find the back of the net within the first few moments of the second half as Sarah Tonkovich found the back of the net. First year Annie Smith (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) kept the pressure on the Bobcats with two shots later in the second half, but neither found their way to the back of the net as the final score settled at 2-0.

Inside the Box Score
  • Rebecca Marakovitz (Jr., New Market, Md. / Linganore) and Erin Roszkowiak (Jr., Cinnaminson, N.J. / Cinnamonson) finished with six combined saves against 15 shots.
  • Wilson totaled seven shots with two on goal from Shaffer and Smith.
