(HARRISONBURG, Va.) – For the second consecutive day the Wilson men's soccer team battled an ODAC opponent for a full 90 minutes, but came up just short at Eastern Mennonite. The Royals scored early, but the Phoenix did well to limit them to the one goal and stay within striking distance for the rest of regulation.
The Basics
Score: Wilson 0, Eastern Mennonite 1
Venue: EMU Turf Field

How It Happened
- Both teams came out firing with each taking shots in the first four minutes, but it was the Royals that kept the pressure up. Three more shots by the hosts followed across the next 10 minutes before they found the back of the net on a strike by Kaden Schrock.
- From there EMU stayed in control and tallied six more shots before the half. Logan Neves (Fy., Fredericksburg, Va. / Colonial Forge) did well to keep the Phoenix in the game by making saves on three of them to give him five for the half.
- The Royals jumped out to another quick start in the second with four shots in the first 11 minutes. Neves came up big again with two more saves to keep Wilson within distance. Wilson had three attempts the rest of the way in hopes of equalizing, but none of them were on target.
Inside The Numbers
- Neves reached double figures for the second-straight day with 10 saves to give him 22 for the weekend. He faced 19 shots on the day.
