(SCRANTON, Pa.) – The first game of the Softball CSAC Championship between No. 5 Wilson and No. 4 Keystone has proved to be an exciting contest. The plot twist is that the game still isn't over and both teams will head to Cedar Crest on Friday.
That's because Wednesday's 'play-in' game between the Phoenix and Giants went into extra innings and the game had to be suspended because of darkness.
As a result, the best option for both teams is to resume the game in Allentown. As it stands, Wilson currently leads the Giants 11-7 with one out in the bottom of the ninth. Keystone will have runners on second and third once play resumes.
Play will resume on Friday following the first game of the day between No. 2 Rosemont and No. 3 Saint Elizabeth which is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. The winner of the Wilson vs. Keystone game will then immediately start play against top-seeded Cedar Crest in the double elimination portion of the tournament.
