(ALLENTOWN, Pa.) – The CSAC opener didn't go as Wilson wanted it to as it fell in both games against Cedar Crest on Sunday. The Phoenix dropped the first game against the Falcons and looked poised to split as they led the second game, but the hosts rallied late to take both games.

How It Happened (Game 1)
- Things looked promising for the Phoenix took an early lead in the opener. Alyssa Wenger (Jr., Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg) sparked some momentum as she led off with a walk and promptly stole second. Two batters later she scored as Haley Privett (Jr., Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Magnet) singled through the left side. The Blue and White threatened to score more, but left a pair on base.
- Cedar Crest responded quickly with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame. After a scoreless second, the Falcons took control with six runs in the third and five more in the fourth.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- The start of the second was much better for the Phoenix. Wenger again got the momentum building with a lead-off walk. She eventually moved to second on a sacrifice moved to third on a single by Privett, and scored on a bases-loaded walk to Alecia Hamilton (Sr., Canton, Ohio / GlenOak). This time the Phoenix weren't done scoring as Ashley Stevens (So., Valencia, Calif. / Valencia) singled to right center to bring in Privett and Stewart for a 3-0 lead.
- The Falcons responded again, but this time they only managed one run on a fielder's choice RBI. Wilson was able to get it back in the top of the second as Haiden Brookens (Jr., Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Magnet) hit in Madison Briggs (Fy., Lock Haven, Pa. / Central Mountain) who led off the frame with a double to center. The Phoenix extended their lead in the third as Stevens hit a sac fly to left that allowed Riley Henry (So., Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) to score from third.
- The Falcons eventually rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth. A double, a single, and an error plated the first. Later in the inning consecutive base hits brought in the next three to tie.
- Wilson eventually got on the board again in the sixth. Brookens led off the frame with a double to left center and scored after a fielding error by the Falcons. Another error allowed Stewart to score two batters later. Stevens brought in another run with an infield single to make the score 8-5 later in the inning.
- Unfortunately the Falcons were able to answer. Three hits and a couple of errors allowed them to score four to take the lead. A couple of Falcons errors gave Wilson some life in the top of the seventh, the Phoenix couldn't take advantage.
Inside The Numbers
- Stevens has her best game of the season in the nightcap as she went 3-for-3 with four RBI to lead the offense.
- Privett also had a multiple hit game in the second as she went 2-for-4. Overall on the day she went 3-for-6 and extended her hit streak to six games.
