How It Happened
- Adrianna Stricek (Fy., Harrisburg, Pa. / Trinity) started the party with a layup on a dish from Madison Ross (Sr., New Oxford, Pa. / New Oxford) six seconds into the game and remained in front the rest of the way. At the end of the first quarter, Wilson led 16-10, but perhaps what was more telling was the 14-6 advantage of points in the paint. It was a sign of things to come as the Phoenix continued to pound the rock down low throughout the day.
- Rosemont was able to get within five early in the second, but Wilson answered with the next eight points to spark an 18-4 run. Naomi Hanton (Sr., Bristow, Va. / Patriot) scored two of the early buckets to get the offense churning and Laela Robinson (Fy., Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) took a steal and coasted in for a layup to go up 38-19. Robinson also closed the half with a jumper to give the Phoenix a 42-23 lead at the break.
- The Ravens were able to cut the deficit down to 14, but any momentum from that was short lived as Wilson came back with the next seven points. Stricek started the run with a layup from Yaya Cannon (Sr., Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic) who followed up with the next five points.
- Through the first three quarters the Phoenix made 52.1% of their shots, making 50% or better in each of the first three quarters. The fourth was icing on the cake, however, as they made 10-of-15 for 66.7% as they increased their lead.
