How It Happened
- CNU got on the board early with a goal by Emma Logue just 3:25 into the contest. From there it was a defensive battle as neither scored the rest of the half. Most of the pressure was on Wilson, however, as the Captains fired off 16 shots in the first half. Twelve of them alone came in the second.

- The pressure remained in the second half as the Captains scored a pair of goals in the third quarter. Delaney Norr made it 2-0 midway through the frame and Morgan Arthur scored just two seconds before the end of the third for a 3-0 lead.
- CNU's Katie Abendschoen added an insurance goal in the fourth to set up the final score.
