(MONT ALTO, Pa.) – Deah Menedis (Reisterstown, Md. / Franklin) led Wilson in its season opener as the Phoenix fell to Penn State-Mont Alto in three sets on Thursday evening. The sophomore outside hitter put down five kills against the Nittany Lions.

How It Happened:
- Wilson faced an early deficit as the hosts raced out to an early lead and kept it throughout. The Phoenix went up against a tall, balanced attack that saw five players with at least four kills.
- Gracie Vaughn led Mont Alto's offense with 11 kills. Defensively Wilson was also led by Menedis who registered five digs.
- Allyson Garcelon (Fr., Shrewsbury, Pa. / Susquehannock) set up the Phoenix attack with five assists.
- Menedis added a service ace to give her six points on the evening.
