BALTIMORE, Md. - The Wilson College women's basketball team took on the Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland University earlier tonight in their second CSAC game of the season. The Phoenix fell short against the Gators with a final score of 76-66.
How It Happened: Samira Murphy (Virginia Beach, Va., Great Bridge Christian) and Yaya Cannon (Lancaster, Pa., Lancaster Catholic) would get the Phoenix off to an early 4-0 lead in the first quarter, however, the Gators held the lead at heading into the second quarter. Notre Dame was able to extend their lead in the second quarter to 14 before Wilson was able to cut the lead to six heading into the half with a score of 39-33 with a fast break
Bry Hicks (Lancaster, Pa., Lancaster Catholic). Despite the effort from the Phoenix, the Gators remained on top of the Phoenix with a final score of 76-66.
Inside the Box Score: Sophomore
Bry Hicks was the teams leading scorer with 17 points and five steals.
Yaya Cannon finished with 12 points and led with six assists. Wilson scored the majority of their points in the paint with 36 points.
