CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson college women's basketball team tipped off earlier this afternoon against CSACÂ opponent Clarks Summit University. The Phoenix improve their record in the conference play to 2-1 after a 71-54 victory over the Defenders.Â
How It Happened: Wilson had a strong first half against the Defenders offensively.Â
Adrianna Stricek (Harrisburg, Pa., Trinity) and Laela Robinson (Lancaster, Pa., Conestoga Valley) got the scoring started for the Phoenix. In the second quarter, the Phoenix locked in both offensively and defensively holding Clarks Summit to just four points while Wilson tallied 16 points and expanded their lead to 36-22. In the second half, the Defenders made an offensive push but the Phoenix defense held on to secure a 17-point lead over Clarks Summit.

Laela Robinson and Naomi Hanton (Bristow, Va., Patriot) were the teams leading scorers with 11 apiece.Â
Adrianna Stricek concluded the game with a double-double after scoring 10 points with 10 rebounds and two steals.Â
Bry Hicks (Lancaster, Pa., Lancaster Catholic)Â secured a season high in blocks after tallying four blocks on the day.Â
