Strong Offense Scores Win For Field Hockey

(LANGHORNE, Pa.) – The Wilson field hockey team remained unbeaten in CSAC action and pushed its win streak to four games as it downed Lancaster Bible on Thursday afternoon. The Phoenix offense inundated the Chargers defense for most of the day which in turn proved to be the best defense for Wilson as it didn't allow the visitors to take a single shot.

How It Happened
  • It didn't take long for the Phoenix to score as Emma Bounds (So., Carlisle, Pa. / Boiling Springs) struck the back of the goal first just 64 seconds into the contest. From there it would be a while before the Phoenix scored again, but once they did, the flood gates opened and Wilson was able to score three goals in under three minutes. Brea Kelso (So., Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) provided the first of those to make it 2-0 with 1:45 left in the first. Paige Ney (Fy., Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) then made it 3-0 just 37 seconds later on an assist from Bounds. Alexis Pflumm (Sr., Camden, Del. / Caesar Rodney) then made it 4-0 42 seconds into the second quarter.
  • Ney scored her second of the game on a helper from Kelso to make the score 5-0 which lasted until the third quarter. Plumm then added her second before Kelso closed the scoring with her second of the game on an assist from Elizabeth Landon (Fy., West Grove, Pa. / Avon Grove).
