How It Happened
- A kill from Deah Menedis (So., Reisterstown, Md. / Franklin) put the score at 5-4 in favor of the Gators before the hosts went on a lengthy 9-1 run to take control of the set. Wilson tried to get back into it with a 5-1 rally of its own with kills from Karyssa Faith (Fy., Clear Spring, Md. / Saint Maria Goretti) and Menedis, but Notre Dame scored 10 of the last 12 points to take a 1-0 lead.
- Wilson started the second game out strong and quickly took a 3-2 lead before later tying it at 4-4 on a Gators service error. Notre Dame then took control on a 12-0 run en route to the 2-0 lead.
- The Phoenix faired much better in the third set with another strong start thanks to kills from Menedis and Allyson Garcelon (Fy., Shrewsbury, Pa. / Susquehannock) to put them up 4-2. Another Menedis kill and a Notre Dame service error gave Wilson leads of 5-4 and 6-5 before Notre Dame went up for good on a 6-0 run. Wilson stayed alive late with a kill from Niki Schussler (So., Chambersburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley Christian) and a Gators error before the hosts secured match point.
