WINCHESTER, Va. - The Wilson College men's soccer team went head-to-head against the Hornets of Shenandoah University in a non-conference contest earlier this afternoon. The Phoenix (0-4) fought hard;Â but were defeated by the Hornets (5-2) by a final score of 6-0.
How It Happened:Â Shenandoah got to work quickly, scoring four goals in the first 20 minutes of play. A few minutes later, sophomore
Connor Bowers (Hagerstown, MD, North Hagerstown High School) launched off a shot but could not find the back of the net. The Hornets entered halftime leading by a score of 5-0. In the second half, the defense started to check the Shenandoah offense and limited them to just one goal in the half as they would defeat the Phoenix by a score of 6-0.Â

Billy Merk (Macungie, PA, Lehigh Carbon Community College) and senior
Andrew Hetzer (Chambersburg, PA., Cumberland Valley Christian) combined on a total of eight saves for the match.
Bowers led the team in shots while Wilson finished with two corners.Â
