CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College field hockey team faced off against the Green Terror of McDaniel College in non-conference action earlier today. The Phoenix (5-0, 1-0 CSAC) bested the Green Terror (2-3, 0-0 CC) in a nail bitter, 2-0.
How It Happened: Opening up the game, both defenses suffocated any offensive opportunity that the other opponent had. The two teams were held to just six shots after the first half. In the second half, the Wilson offense opened up the scoring just seven minutes into it. Super senior
Michaela Singer (Annville, PA., Annville-Cleona) found the back of the net off an assist from junior
Alexis Pflumm (Camden, Del., Caesar Rodney), pushing the Phoenix in front 1-0. Less than a minute later,
Singer buried another shot into the net, giving Wilson the 2-0 advantage. The Phoenix defense continued to repel the Green Terror offense throughout as Wilson blanked McDaniel, 2-0 to close out the game.
Inside the Box Score: Singer amassed her fourth and fifth goals of the season, her 49th and 50th of her career, while leading the team with four shots. Six Phoenix recorded shots in the match. Graduate student
