LA PLUME, Pa. - The Wilson College women's lacrosse team took on the Giants on Keystone College in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play. The Phoenix (3-3, 3-1 CSAC) defeated the Giants (0-2, 0-2 CSAC) by a score of 9-5.
How It Happened: Keystone managed to score the game's first two goals before Wilson struck back. The Phoenix's first goal came from senior
Michaela Singer (Annville, PA., Annville-Cleona) assisted by sophomore
Paige Reynolds (Keedysville, MD, Boonsboro High School). Later on, after Keystone scored another goal, Wilson responded for a second time. This time, freshmanÂ
Megan Simms (Frederick, MD, Governor Thomas Johnson HS)Â scored, assisted by senior
Danielle Stafford (Jessup, MD., Glen Burnie). Shortly after, the Phoenix tied the game up, at three apiece, with another goal from
Singer again assisted by
Reynolds. Less than a minute later
Singer scored again to put Wilson up 4-3 going into halftime.Â
In the second half, the Phoenix continued the scoring with a free position goal off of
Reynolds that put Wilson up 5-3. The Giants would start to creep back as they were able to even things up at 5-5 after scoring two unanswered goals. The Phoenix responded with four goals of their own. Freshman
Kayla McHugh (Harrisburg, PA, Central Dauphin HS) scored the first one,
Singer scored the next two, and
Reynolds scored the last. The Blue and White would go on to take this game by a final score of 9-5.Â

Reynolds added four points on two goals and two assists while
Simms and
McHugh each finished with one goal. Wilson led their opponents with 28 shots and 19 ground balls.Â
