Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Phoenix Blank Eagles

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College women's soccer team won their seventh match in a row this afternoon as the Phoenix (9-5, 7-1 CSAC) blanked the Saint Elizabeth University Eagles (0-9, 0-6 CSAC) by a score of 6-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action this afternoon.

How It Happened: In a match that was played in a steady rain, that was heavy at times, the Phoenix were able to get their footing and grab an early lead. Before ten minutes had run off the clock in the opening half, junior Bailey Miller (Charles Town, W.Va., Washington) ripped a shot past the keeper with an assist from sophomore Julia Mohler (Point Of Rocks, MD, Brunswick) for the 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later, the Phoenix offense struck again as freshman Jade Wolfe (Mercersburg, Pa, James Buchannan) found the back of the net with an assist from Miller to make the score 2-0. The offense continued to dominate possession over the next fifteen minutes as the Phoenix fired seven shots during that stretch and added to their lead as senior Olivia Churchman (Waynesboro, PA, Shenandoah) scored to push the lead to 3-0. On the defensive side of the ball, the Phoenix were dominant as they held the Eagles without a shot in the half. During the second half, the dominance continued for the Phoenix on both sides of the ball. Churchman caught fire and scored back-to-back goals in less than a minute to record the first hat-trick of her career. Senior Kimberlee Ahlers (Gettysburg, PA., Gettysburg) capped off the scoring for the Phoenix with an assist by sophomore Hannah Woodward (Gettysburg, PA, Biglerville) to make the final score 6-0.

Inside the Box Score: The Phoenix out shot the Eagles 27-0 including 17-0 in shots on goal. The defense held the Eagles without a shot for the entire match. Wolf's goal was her 5th of the season which is tied for the team lead with junior Morgan Wineburg (Phoenixville, PA., Phoenixville). Miler's assist was her team leading 4th of the season. Wilson will have the chance to claim at least a share of the CSAC regular season title next weekend versus Keystone College.

Up Next: Wilson hits the road to take on Delaware Valley on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
