BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Wilson College field hockey team took to the road where nonconference play continued. This time they took on the Owls of Bryn Mawr College. The Phoenix (1-3, 0-0) were defeated by the Owls (4-0, 0-0) by a final score of 3-0.
How It Happened: Bryn Mawr got things started early with a goal in the first four minutes of play. Wilson would get the defense going for the rest of the quarter as junior goalkeeper
Krista Nayadley (Hampton, VA, Hampton) would go on to tally up 7 saves in the first quarter of play.
In the second quarter, the Owls would score another goal as they were able to gather a rebound in front of the net and sneak a goal past the keeper. The Phoenix would have their chances though. In the twenty-sixth minute of play Wilson secured a penalty corner, freshman
Abigail Rosenberry (Shippensburg, PA., Shippensburg) was able to fire off a shot but it would be blocked by Bryn Mawr. Wilson would enter the half trailing, 2-0.
In the third period of play, both teams would duke it out for possession. The Owls would have several chances to score but the Phoenix defense would show up big in this quarter. Wilson would let up one more goal in the fourth quarter; they would go on to lose, 3-0.
Inside the Box Score: For the match, Bryn Mawr outshot the Phoenix 25-2.

Michaela Singer (Annville, PA., Annville-Cleona) led Wilson in shots for the night while
Nayadley finished with, a new career-high, 14 saves.
Up Next: The field hockey team will make their home debut for the 2019 season on Saturday, September 14, where the will face the Panthers of Ferrum (0-3, 0-0 ODAC) at 1:00 P.M.
