CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Phoenix softball team played host to the visiting Highlanders of Cairn University this afternoon in the regular season finale for the Phoenix.

Wilson took care of business in both games, defeating Cairn by scores of 8-0 and 12-4. With the win, the Phoenix finish with a perfect 14-0 record in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play and are now 24-6-2 on the season.

Game One: Wilson was held hitless in the first inning but Jennifer Cail (Lisle, IL, Lisle) put an end to that quickly with a double to left field in the second inning.

After Cail advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt, Chloe Perrin (Milton, Pa., Milton) stroked a single to center to score Cail and give the Phoenix a 1-0 lead.

After going scoreless in the third inning, the bats picked back up again for the Phoenix in the bottom of the fourth. Jenna Carty (Chambersburg, Pa., Greencastle-Antrim) singled to start the offense and after a Katey Roth (Lebanon, PA., Lebanon) single, Jessica Kosheba (Marietta, Pa., Donegal) doubled home both runners to put Wilson ahead 3-0.

Alison Shockey (Greencastle, Pa., Greencastle-Antrim) singled in the next at bat to score Kosheba and push the Phoenix lead to 4-0. Two batters later, Jennifer Cail singled home another run and then an error by the Highlanders allowed one more run to cross the plate for Wilson. The Phoenix would take a 6-0 lead into the fifth inning of play.

Megan Potter (Hagerstown, Md., South Hagerstown) carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning, but saw it broken up with a lead off single. Potter was unbothered by the hit and picked up three straight outs, inlcuding an inning ending double play.

Wilson added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth on singles by Jessica Kosheba and Taylor Durant (Woodinville, Wash., Monroe). The two runs put the Phoenix up 8-0 which ended the game in five innings.

Megan Potter was dominant once again, throwing five shutout innings, allowing one hit and striking out eight. With the win, Potter improves to 16-3 on the year.

Game Two: After a scoreless first inning, the Phoenix erupted for a seven run second inning. Amber Rexrode (Annville, PA., Annville Cleona) and Gabriella Newman (Hanover, Pa., South Western) started things off with singles that were followed by a Katey Roth walk to load the bases.

Jessica Kosheba then singled to left to score one run and put the Phoenix up 1-0. The next batter, Alison Shockey, also singled and plated two more runs to move Wilson ahead 3-0.

With the bases still full of Phoenix, Chloe Perrin stepped in and launched a bases clearing triple to give Wilson a 6-0 advantage. Baille Jones (Shippensburg, Pa., Shippensburg) capped off the big inning with an RBI single and the Phoenix went into the third ahead 7-0.

The Highlanders' offense finally got going in the top of the third as they scored four runs in the inning to get within three of Wilson.

After two scoreless innings, the Phoenix offense got rolling again in the bottom of the fifth. Katey Roth would load the bases on a single as Jessica Kosheba continued her solid day at the plate with a two RBI single down the left field line to give the Phoenix a 9-4 lead.

Alison Shockey made the score 10-4 during the next at bat with an RBI single of her own to score Katey Roth.
