The Phoenix held the advantage at the end of the first, 12-11.

The next period of action was dominated by the Blue and White, Wilson jumped out to a 7-0 run that lasted the entire second quarter. Purvis was able to capitalize on a layup with the dish coming from freshman L'Shana Cobey (Silver Spring, Md, Montgomery Blair). Purvis would go on to score five of her teams seven points in the quarter. Near the end of the first half, freshman Tioleaoauli Posiulai (Waipahu, Hawaii, University Laboratory School) was able to gather her own rebound and knockdown a jumper as time expired, giving the Phoenix a 19-11 lead at halftime.

After exchanging points back and forth in the opening minutes of the third, Wyatt and sophomore Michaela Singer (Annville, Pa., Annville-Cleona) were able to knock down a pair of three-pointers that helped push their lead to 27-15. With less than two minutes, Singer dished the ball off to Posiulai who was able to nail the jumper that pushed Wilson further in front, 31-15.
