SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.- The Shepherd Rams used 24 three-pointers in this afternoon's basketball contest to earn a 101-50 victory over the Wilson College men's basketball team. With the loss, the Phoenix fall to 2-9 on the season while Shepherd improves to 5-4.

How It Happened: After some early back-and-forth play from both teams, Shepherd used an 8-0 run to take a 19-9 lead over the Phoenix.

Wilson moved back within eight points after Olamide Banjo (Largo, Md., Largo HS) knocked down a jumper, but not before the Rams went on a huge 19-0 scoring run to take a 38-11 lead with just under eight minutes left in the half.

Shepherd went on to score 20 more points in the half while holding the Phoenix to just 9 to take a 58-20 advantage into the break. Shepherd hit 16 of their 24 three-pointers in the first half with Thomas Lang knocking down 10 of the 16. Lang also scored 32 points in the first half. The Phoenix shot just 30 percent from the field and only 25 percent from beyond the arc.

Wilson started the second half strong, scoring 10 points in the first five minutes of play, but a quick 9-0 run from the Rams put an end to the Phoenix momentum as they led 74-31. With just under 10 minutes remaining the Rams led by 41 and would go on to close out the game with a 51-point victory.
