Phoenix Topped by Knights


ENOLA, Pa.- Despite a team-high 30 points from senior Jordyn Day (Richmond, Va, Varina), the Wilson women's basketball team fell to the Central Penn College Knights 76-66, suffering their first loss on the early season. With the loss, the Phoenix are now 1-1 on the season. 

The Phoenix shot a solid 37.5% from the field in the game and 38.5% from three on 10-26 shooting. Jordyn Day led Wilson with 30 points including 7 three-pointers. Samira Murphy (Virginia Beach, Va, Great Bridge Christian) finished with 10 points while Tori Cole (Orange Park, Fla., Orange Park) added 8 and 10 rebounds. The Knights shot 51% from the field, which proved to be a difference-maker, while also outrebounding the Phoenix 55-24, including 23 offensive boards. 

Up Next: The Phoenix return home this Saturday when they square off against Immaculata at 4:00 p.m. in non-conference play.
