CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Wilson College women's basketball played host to the Knights of Southern Virginia University this afternoon in a nonconference matchup. The Phoenix (3-5, 1-2 CSAC) were defeated by the Knights (8-1, 0-0 CAC) by a final score of 75-54.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Six minutes into the first quarter, a milestone was reached here on the campus of Wilson College. Senior Lindsey Purvis (Fort Myers, Fl, South Fort Myers) became the 8th player in the women's basketball program to reach 1,000 career points. Purvis has played the last 3 seasons for the program and has averaged 13.5 points-per-game thus far in her career. Jumping back to the action, the Knights started on a 7-2 run before the Phoenix were able to get things going. Freshman L'Shana Cobey (Silver Spring, MD, Montgomery Blair) was able to add four points in the first quarter as she connected with two layups. Wilson would trail at the end of the first quarter, 18-10. The second quarter would start with the Knights going on an 11-0 run before senior Kai Wyatt (Catonsville, MD, Md Acad Tech & Hlth Sci) was able to knock down a three-pointer and end the run. Wilson would go into half time trailing by a score of 37-19.

The Phoenix would open up the second half with scoring. First Lindsey Purvis was able to get things going with a jumper followed by another three from Kai Wyatt. Senior Amber Watkins (Honesdale, Pa, Honesdale) was able to connect on a shot from beyond the arc and freshman Tioleaoauli Posiulai (Waipahu, HI., University Laboratory School) connected on a layup as both players were able to come up big in the quarter. Watkins would continue her scoring in the fourth quarter as she connected with several shots from the floor and another three-pointer. Wilson would come up short in the game, however, as they would go on to lose, 75-54.
