Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Eagles Soar Past Phoenix

BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Wilson College men's basketball team started back up tonight after Thanksgiving break to take on the Eagles of Bridgewater College. The Phoenix (1-5, 0-0 CSAC) were defeated by the Eagles (2-3, 0-0 ODAC) by a score of 95-56.

How It Happened: The game would start out with a three-pointer from senior Keion Adams (Gaithersburg, Md., Seneca Valley); however, Bridgewater would respond with a three of their own. Wilson would then go on a 7-2 run with more three-pointers coming from senior Ian Frazier (Palmyra, Pa., Palmyra) and freshman Anthony Desruisseau (Burtonsville, Md, Springbrook HS). The Eagles were able to gather themselves and chip away, eventually evening everything up at 13 points apiece. Wilson and Bridgewater would spend the rest of the first half trading points back and forth with the Phoenix extending their lead to six at one point in the half. The first half would wrap up with the Eagles on top 37-32. The second half would open up with sophomore Zachary Powell (Manassas, Va., Osbourn) knocking down back-to-back shots from beyond the arc for Wilson. Bridgewater, however, would start to pull away as they would go on a 12-0 run and push their lead to 22. The Phoenix maintained intensity, but struggled to get many runs going in the second half as they would go on to shoot 23% from the floor while Bridgewater would shoot 58%. The Eagles would go on to win tonight's game, 95-56.

Inside The Box Score: Keion Adams would lead the Phoenix in points finishing with 11 on the night. Zachary Powell would come up just short of a double-double as he would finish with nine points while leading the team with eight rebounds. Ian Frazier and junior Rashaan Bean (San Antonio, Texas, Forest Park) would both contribute seven points apiece. Wilson would finish shooting 29% from the floor and 40% from the three-point arc.

Up Next: The Phoenix will return home this Saturday at 3:00 pm where they will Rosemont College as they open this year's Colonial States Athletic Conference play.
