BRYN ATHYN, Pa.- The men's soccer team was in action this afternoon, they took on the Lions of Bryn Athyn College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest. The Phoenix (3-7-2, 2-1-0 CSAC) took down the Lions (2-9-0, 0-3-0 CSAC) 4-1 with junior
Silvio Andrade (Guayaquil, Ecuador) putting up two goals in the match.
How It Happened: The contest started slow with both teams trading possessions early. Senior
Aaron Russ (Honolulu, Hawaii) was able to beat the keeper and score the opening goal of the match. Bryn Athyn, would respond immediately and score an equalizing goal less than a minute later, making it 1-1. The Phoenix would come back and take control of the game in the twenty-eighth minute of the match with an
Andrade's first goal, boosting the score to 2-1. Wilson would fire four more shots off before the first half was over. In the second half, sophomore
René Quintanilla (San Salvador, El Salvador, Chambersburg) would lead the Phoenix offense and fire a shot off in the first twenty seconds. Wilson would control the ball for most of the second half, with the team firing off 18 shots in the half alone.
Andrade would score his second goal of the afternoon in the eighty-fourth minute, followed by another, for the Phoenix, supplied by sophomore
Samuel Appiah (Kumasi, Ghana, Opoku Ware School). Wilson would win by a total of 4-1.

Russ would score his fourth goal of the season,
Appiah scores his third, and
Andrade scores his second and third goals of the season. The Phoenix tallied up 30 shots in the match while holding the Lions to just seven. Wilson held Bryn Athyn to just one shot in the second in the second half.
