How It Happened: The Phoenix started things off in the first quarter with a 10-1 run. Junior Jordyn Day's (Richmond, Va) second three-pointer of the night gave the Phoenix a 10 point lead 13-3. Then a couple free-throws and a three-point bucket from junior Kristen Burdo (Norristown, Pa.) gave the Phoenix their largest lead of the game as they commanded the court 18-7. Henderson was last to score in the quarter with a lay-up in the paint before the teams headed to the break 44-40 Phoenix.

Even though the Nittany Lions kept grinding to close the point margin, the Phoenix seemed to keep bouncing back. Their lead closed to four pints, but before the quarter was over the Phoenix would claim another 10 point lead 61-51 at the 1:26 mark. In the third quarter the Nittany Lions were last on the scoreboard with a two point bucket from Iman Richmond, who was one of two members from the visiting team to get a double-double this game. A jump shot from the Nittany Lions tied the game up 61-61 in the fourth quarter. They then took the lead, but the Phoenix snatched it back until the game got tied up again 65-65.
