CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College women's volleyball team hosted Penn State Berks for a match-up this evening. The Nittany Lions defeated the Phoenix by a score of 3-0.

After the Phoenix Fall Festival and Pregame Tailgate, the action moved inside where the Nittany Lions (13-6) started hot and stayed hot in defeating the Phoenix by scores of 25-7, 25-11, and 25-11. Freshman Laury Jean Baptiste (Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Coconut Creek) led the Phoenix with 4 kills and 3 blocks. Sophomore Lindsey Purvis (Fort Myers, Fl, South Fort Myers) also tallied 3 blocks for the Phoenix. Leading the team in digs and assists was freshman Simahj James (Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Northeast High) with 6 each. Sophomore Hanna Quarry (Elizabethtown, Pa., Elizabethtown) also had 6 digs and added 2 assists, while freshman Kaydi Brubaker (Williamsburg, Pa., Williamsburg) tallied 3 kills and 5 digs.

For the match the Phoenix had 9 kills against 20 errors on 75 attempts for a -.147 attacking percentage. The Nittany Lions totaled 29 kills against 6 errors on 60 attempts for a .383 attacking percentage.

Wilson will be back on the court on next weekend at a North Eastern Athletic Conference Crossover hosted by Gallaudet University. The Phoenix open with Wells College at 4:00 p.m.
