Wildcats Deny Phoenix

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Wilson College women's volleyball team embarked on the final road trip of the season as the team traveled to Penn College for a North Eastern Athletic Conference match. The Phoenix fell to the host Wildcats by a score of 3-0.

The Wildcats (6-18, 4-7 NEAC) won by scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-15 over the Phoenix (0-19, 0-11). Freshman Kaydi Brubaker (Williamsburg, Pa., Williamsburg) led the way for the Phoenix with 3 kills and 2 service aces. Fellow freshman Laury Jean Baptiste (Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Coconut Creek) tallied 3 kills, 6 digs and a game high 7 blocks, while classmate Simahj James (Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Northeast High) added a team high 8 assists, 6 digs and 2 blocks. 

For the match the Phoenix had 10 kills against 19 errors on 56 attempts for an attacking percentage of -.161 while the host Wildcats had 20 kills against 11 errors on 56 attempts for a .161 attacking percentage.

Wilson will wrap up the regular season tomorrow in Williamsport with matches against Lancaster Bible at 10:00 a.m. followed by a 4:00 p.m. match-up with Penn State Berks.
