Phoenix Drop Fourth Straight In Loss Against Cazenovia College

The Wilson College women's basketball team dropped its fourth game in a row with a loss today against Cazenovia College, 80-36.

Cazenovia scored the first points of the game and continued to expand their lead throughout the first half. In the middle of the first half, Cazenovia took a ten point lead over Wilson. Wilson looked to their bench in the bottom of the half, but received limited help. Cazenovia took a 48-17 lead over the Phoenix at the close.

Wilson posted a disappointing 20.0 field goal percentage in the second half as its shooting struggles continued. Cazenovia put the game away and finished the contest shooting 39.3 percent from the floor. The Wildcats took the advantage in rebounds, pulling down 55. Wilson finished with 35 rebounds as well as 35 turnovers.

Senior Vanessa Whitfield recorded the double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Morgan Wonders contributed with 14 points and pulled down 9 rebounds.

Wilson continues their New York road trip tomorrow when they compete against Keuka College for a 1:00pm tipoff.
