Gretchen Hand

Gretchen Hand enters her first season as the head coach for the brand-new varsity women’s volleyball program at Wilson College. She is also the head coach of the strength and conditioning program for the college.

Prior to her arrival at Wilson College, Coach Hand was a physical education teacher and varsity volleyball coach at Fort Lauderdale High School where she developed a defeated program to a 16-8 record her first season. She was named the 2014 all-star coach of Broward County Schools. She also has 12 years combined experience coaching and playing beach volleyball. In 2008, she received the personal trainer of the year award for the El Segundo Health Club and Corporation. Coach Hand brings more than 15 years of coaching, marketing, and fitness experience with her to Wilson.

Coach Hand is a 2002 graduate from the University of St. Louis Missouri where she attained a bachelor’s degree in education. She also has advanced personal trainer, sports nutrition, and women’s specialist certifications from the International Fitness Professionals Association.
