Emily Barber

Emily Barber enters her second year as the head women’s lacrosse coach here at Wilson College. Barber was hired in the summer of 2019 with the task of recruiting and building a women’s lacrosse program for the Phoenix.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Emily is also the Coordinator of Campus Recreation and Intramural Sports where she handles day-to-day recreation duties including managing and implementing new recreation activities and programs.

Prior to her time here at Wilson, Barber was the offensive coordinator for Hood College women’s lacrosse team. While at Hood, Barber helped lead the Blazers to a 37-goal improvement over the previous year and set a new school record with 38 free position goals. Barber coached three players to earn Second Team All-Conference honors as well as breaking school records in goals, assists, and draw controls.

She is currently the Women’s Director of the Maryland Lacrosse Showcase an event that takes place in the summer. She has also worked with Renegades Girls Lacrosse Club as a coach and recruiting coordinator.  

Emily completed her playing career at Division I Monmouth University. A four-year starter, she tallied 38 goals, 44 assists and 82 points as a member of the Hawks' attack. She also served as a team captain and was a member of Monmouth's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee prior to receiving her degree in History. She also holds a master’s degree from Hood College.

Emily resides in Frederick, Maryland with her husband, Brad.
