Matt Allen enters his fifth season as the head coach for women’s basketball at Wilson College.

During the 2017-18 season, Allen guided the Phoenix to double digit victories and the programs best record since the 2000-01 season. He also coached the first women's player to receive all-conference recognition since the 2012-13 season.

Allen comes to Wilson from the State University of New York at Cobleskill where he served as the head men’s basketball coach and the coordinator of student-athlete well-being. While at Cobleskill, Allen led the men’s basketball team in attaining their first ever conference title as the 2014-2015 NEAC Champions.

Allen was also the assistant men’s basketball coach at Wingate University during the time that they attained three consecutive conference championships and appeared in NCAA Division II tournaments. Head Coach Allen has been coaching collegiate basketball since 1997. In that time, he has had vast experience recruiting for collegiate athletics departments.

Allen is a 1994 Wofford College graduate. He has a Bachelor of Arts in political economy and philosophy.
