Skyler Roman enters his first season as an Assistant Basketball Coach for the Phoenix. Prior to joining the Wilson College Men’s basketball team staff, Coach Roman attended Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. He was fortunate to receive a scholarship to play DII collegiate basketball for the Rams. Due to knee injuries and the need for surgical intervention, he only played three seasons at Shepherd. Coach Roman tallied 958 points, 278 assists, and 229 rebounds in his three years playing. In 2015-2016, Roman earned MEC Conference Honors as Player of the Week and also finished in the top 25 in scoring and in the top five in assists.
As a high school player, Roman spent 4 years as a member of Chambersburg Trojans under Coach Shawn Shreffler and Brian Zoeller. He played on several AAU teams, traveling and competing across the country. His basketball experiences offered him the opportunity to play against nationally ranked competitors.
Coach Roman graduated from Shepherd University in May 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. He is also a 2012 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School.
