Mike Bowens joined the Wilson Phoenix as the men's basketball head coach in September 2025. In his first season with the Blue and White, he guided the Phoenix to United East Championship tournament where they advanced to the quarterfinals after winning a first round game at home. He also led Wilson to a victory over eventual conference champion Lancaster Bible in the regular season. Wilson also finished the year in the top 50 in free throw attempts and free throws made per game in the nation.

Bowens made his way to the Phoenix program after serving as the associate head coach of Chestnut Hill where he's been since the 2021-22 season. During his time with the Griffins, they went to the postseason all four years which included the first home playoff game in program history in 2023 and another in 2025. The 2023 squad advanced to the CACC semifinals, while last year's team won the CACC South Division championship and were rebounding machine that ranked No. 16 nationally in Division II last season.

Prior to his time there, Bowens served at Penn State Brandywine as the associate head coach from 2018 to 2021 with a playoff appearance in 2019. Bowens worked his way up to the college ranks after coaching at Friends Central School.
