(ALLENTOWN, Pa.) – Isabel Blake (FY, Dover, Pa. / Northeastern) had a breakout game as Wilson won its United East opener on the road at Cedar Crest on Wednesday evening. The first year forward and midfielder scored a brace with goals in the first and third periods to help lead the Phoenix to the win over the Falcons.

Score: Wilson 2, Cedar Crest 0
Venue: FalconPlex
Records: Wilson 3-5, 1-0 UE; Cedar Crest 3-7, 0-2 UE
How It Happened
- The Blue and White set the tone early as they inundated the Falcon defense with shots from the start. Blake had the first take 2:29 into the contest which resulted in a save and Kate Seymour (Sr., Churchton, Md. / Southern) followed with two more just a few minutes later. Seymour added a third that was blocked, but found its way to Blake at the right center near the circle and she fired it to the far post for a 1-0 Wilson lead. Wilson remained on the attacking end of the field for most of the rest of the half, but was unable to find the back of the cage again before the midway break.
- In the second half, Seymour looked to add to the lead with a solid attempt just 96 seconds in that was saved by Falcons keeper Shelby Heater. Play was at a stalemate for the next seven minutes until Greta Harkreader (FY, Camp Hill, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) found Blake for her second with 6:59 left in the frame. Harkreader had taken possession up the right side of the field and in along the end line before centering it through a flock of players only to find Blake waiting to hammer it home inside the far post.
- The defense did its job well in keeping the Falcons from having strong chances at the goal. When they did, Wilson stepped up with Erin Sullivan (Jr., Byram, N.J. / Lenape Valley) making a save and Mikayla Petersen (So., Glen Burnie, Md. / North County) adding a defensive save in the final five minutes of the third. The Wilson attack picked it up in the fourth, and although the Phoenix didn't find the back of the goal again, they outshot Cedar Crest 9-1 in the final 15 to preserve the win.
