(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – Leah Laubach (FY, Marietta, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic) scored a game-high 23 points and
Chloe Irving (FY, Martinsburg, W.Va. / Martinsburg) pulled in a double-double, but a high-octane Penn State Abington squad proved to be too much for Wilson on Wednesday. The Nittany Lions got off to an explosive start with 58 points in the first half, and although the Phoenix outscored them in the second half, it was too much to overcome.

How It Happened
- Early layups by Jewels Torres (Jr., York, Pa. / West York) and Allie Cullison (Sr., Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill / Kean) gave Wilson an early lead in the opening moments, but a 10-0 run by the visitors quickly changed the momentum of the game. Laubach was fouled on a layup and converted the and-one free throw to make it 15-11 with four minutes left in the opening frame, however the Nittany Lions' offense was difficult to contain and stretched the lead to a dozen at the end of the first. That fed into the second quarter were Abington opened the period with a 14-4 run. By halftime the Nittany Lions led 58-29.
- Wilson didn't give up and generated momentum late in the third with an 11-0 run. Mackenzie Caldwell-Degnon (So., Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) sparked the rally with a pair of free throws. Laubach and Kailee Soto (Fy., Lancaster, Pa. / Columbia) both added layups before Caldwell-Degnon added a pair inside the paint to cap the run. Laubach ended the third with a 3-pointer to give Wilson some more life. Wilson ended regulation on a 6-0 run, but the Nittany Lions proved to be too much overall.
